After three years of research, J Factory presents the fully functional perpetual calendar mechanical movement, the Jaeger-LeCoultre JL Master Perpetual Calendar YS Automatic Mechanical Watch. Adhering to the philosophy of disregarding time and cost, it has achieved the reproduction of complex functions of the 868/1 movement using an imported mechanical movement with consistent performance.
1. Perpetual calendar function: The hidden button at the 8 o'clock position allows for month adjustments to the annual calendar, ensuring the perpetual calendar operates normally. The year display ranges from 2023 to 2028, simplifying the replacement of the perpetual calendar function module.
2. Calendar, weekday, and month discs: 1. The calendar disc is displayed at the 3 o'clock position and can be adjusted forward by pulling the first gear of the crown, while backward adjustments are not recommended as they may cause the month disc to jump. 2. The weekday disc is displayed at the 9 o'clock position and can be adjusted backward through a 24-hour time setting by pulling the second gear of the crown. 3. The month disc is displayed at the 6 o'clock position and can be adjusted using the hidden button at the 8 o'clock position, with a special adjustment lever provided. This allows each function to be independently adjusted, making it convenient for wear.
3. Warning window function: Located above the movement axis at the center of the dial, a fan-shaped window displays white when the year can be manually adjusted and blue during restricted time periods. It is advisable not to adjust the year during this time to avoid damaging the movement's lifespan. Therefore, the 868/1 movement is a complex function movement and is not a defect; the original also behaves this way.
4. Moon phase disc function: Located at the 12 o'clock position, the moon phase window completes a full cycle over 30 days, realizing true functionality with an accurate moon phase. This can be adjusted backward by pulling the first gear of the crown, effectively addressing the issue of separately adjusting the moon phase function.

While focusing on functional reproduction, the restoration of the appearance is also of utmost importance.
1. The materials used for the case and bezel are identical to the original, crafted with precision CNC machining for each component to replicate the original appearance, maintaining the original 39mm size and achieving a thickness as close to the original as possible, controlling the overall thickness to around 10mm while realizing all complex functions. 2. The dial restoration is based on the original dimensions, with the scales being true to the original molds, replicating the three-dimensional feel and luster accurately. The size and positions of the scales have undergone strict QC, with the three functional discs aligned with the original in a recessed manner. The moon phase and perpetual calendar windows have a more pronounced three-dimensional effect, and the scale points and logo are consistent with the original, offering a slightly raised appearance, with all dial colors restored to match as closely as possible.
3. The watch features the Syringe hands, which are Jaeger-LeCoultre's signature design, with half sandblasted and half polished finishes. The hour and second hands are crafted with slightly arched techniques, while the blue hands are heat-treated for a purer blue hue.
