The new Ref. 15550ST retains the original design of the year, but has incorporated several subtle design tweaks in the case, dial, and strap, primarily increasing the slope on the upper and lower parts of the case to achieve better overall proportions! On the other hand, the hand-polished satin finish has been enhanced, creating a more striking interplay of light and shadow with the polished surfaces.
The dial still features the unique square pattern, with the 24K gold three-dimensional Audemars Piguet logo at the 12 o'clock position produced by an electroplating method (similar to 3D printing), replacing the previous three-dimensional AP logo and printed Audemars Piguet lettering.
The 22K exclusive rotor of the movement also features the 50th Anniversary inscription, with the rotor showcasing the anniversary logo and Audemars Piguet engraving through intricate hollowing techniques, and receiving the same satin finish and polished treatment as the case! Furthermore, the case back has been further integrated into the case for a more comfortable fit that conforms better to the wrist's curvature.
The strap has also been redesigned, with the first four links changing from a parallelogram to a trapezoid shape, gradually reducing the strap width for a more streamlined aesthetic. All links are thinner, making it feel lighter on the wrist!
