Design inspiration comes from the Carriage Solitaire scarf pattern.
The Lancut Castle is located in the town of the same name in Poland and houses one of the richest and most exquisite collections of horse tack and saddles in Europe. Based on its close relationship with Hermes, the museum also features a collection of complete saddles made by Hermes. The designer of this pattern, Jan Bajtlik, like many Poles, frequently visited the castle as a child. He chose the designs of twenty carriages, then split each carriage in half and mixed them freely, playing a combination game that resembles a picture solitaire, or more precisely, Carriage Solitaire (Voitures exquises)! By simply folding the scarf, one can find the corresponding other half of the carriage to complete the assembly of the original carriage pattern.
